UAE-India travel: Dubai-Hyderabad Emirates flight lands safely following bomb threat
Security teams isolate aircraft and complete passenger checks
DUBAI – An Emirates’ flight travelling from Dubai to Hyderabad landed safely on Friday after authorities in India received a bomb threat email, prompting a full security response.
Emirates confirmed that flight EK526 continued its journey under monitoring before touching down at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at around 8.30am local time. Passengers disembarked normally after security checks, and no injuries were reported.
Indian airport officials said the threat message had reached Hyderabad airport’s customer support at approximately 7.30am.
Security response
Following the aircraft’s arrival, security teams enacted standard operating procedures. The plane was immediately moved to an isolated bay, where all passengers were safely deboarded.
Emirates said its ground teams in Hyderabad cooperated fully with the authorities. The airline reiterated that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.
Ongoing checks
Officials have not released further details as investigations continue. The incident prompted heightened vigilance across the airport, which has faced several threat-related disruptions in recent weeks. The threat to EK526 was confirmed by both Emirates and airport representatives quoted by local media outlets.
The scare comes amid a series of bomb-related alerts linked to Hyderabad-bound flights. On Thursday, an IndiGo service operating as flight 6E 058 from Medina to Hyderabad was diverted to Ahmedabad after receiving a similar threat. The aircraft was carrying 180 passengers and six crew members. Earlier in the week, a Kuwait-Hyderabad IndiGo flight made an emergency landing in Mumbai following another bomb threat.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has also received multiple email threats in recent weeks. On 22 November, authorities investigated a message claiming an RDX device was placed near the arrival area, later confirmed to be a hoax. Another threat on 1 November led to the diversion of an IndiGo flight to a nearby airport while security teams conducted checks.
Emirates continues to operate flights to several major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Kochi, alongside its Hyderabad services.
